Our new Android app: Yocto-Toolbox

We often receive requests for an Android version of the VirtualHub. It doesn't exist, but we provide an Android library enabling developers to use our modules directly from their app. However, we didn't have a solution for users who don't want to develop their own applications. We adjust our aim by announcing our new Android application: Yocto-Toolbox.

A Yoctopuce web based app to draw sensors graphs

The Yoctopuce business model is rather simple: Yoctopuce designs, manufactures, and sells electronic modules, provides the libraries necessary to exploit them, as well as support to help customers realize their projects. However, Yoctopuce doesn't provide turn key solutions. Nevertheless, Yoctopuce support regularly receives requests of the type: "How can I display a graph with the values of a Yoctopuce sensor?", or "How can I obtain the values of a Yoctopuce sensor in the CSV format?". So we decided, once will not hurt, to offer you a ready to use application to trace graphs with the values of Yoctopuce sensors.

Controlling Yoctopuce modules from MQTT

YoctoHubs can automatically publish sensor values on a MQTT broker, as we illustrated in a previous post on this topic. However, for scalability and security reasons, YoctoHubs cannot use MQTT messages to drive connected modules. There are however circumstances where it might be desirable to integrade Yoctopuce command devices in an existing MQTT architecture. In this case, it is enough to use a small gateway between the MQTT protocol and the Yoctopuce modules. This is what we are going to do this week.
