Yoctopuce respects your privacy: we collect as little information about you as needed, and we strive to protect it as best as we can. In particular, we never use personal data for marketing, personal profiling, or other similar activities; nor do we contribute to allow third party to do it. This page includes all the details about what we do and don't do.
The personal data that we have to keep are:
This information is handled solely to perform our obligations directly linked to the sale of goods, as covered by art. 6 al. 1 b) c) and f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) EU 2016/679. For this reason, we do not have to ask for your consent to store that information.
In addition to this, we store the public comments that you choose to post on our web site. For moderation purposes, the IP address from which you post the comments is also stored. You have the right to request that we erase personal information linked to the comments that you have posted.
Your personal data is stored in Switzerland, on our own servers and in the IT infrastructure of our Web hosting provider, Infomaniak Networks, which is committed to keep it safe according to its obligations under the regulations. Information needed for delivery and customs processing of your orders is obviously sent as well to the shipment service and to customs authorities.
In accordance with the recommendations of the credit card organizations, when you perform an on-line payment, information about your credit card travels directly from your Web browser to an accredited payment provider. Your credit card number does not even transit on our web server, and we never have access to your credit card number or your CVC.
Our usage of Google Analytics is very limited. We only care about global navigation trends affecting our site, to detect abnormal situations and large traffic changes caused by external conditions, such as external links pointing to our site and Google organic search results. Every personal profiling function of Google Analytics is disabled on our web site, and all data sharing options have been forbidden. We have activated the IP address anonymization to protect your privacy.
Once you are logged into your account on our web site, Google Analytics is completely disabled for your session. Indeed, we do not see any purpose in performing statistics, even anonymized, on logged in users.
We have decided to completely give up on social network buttons, such as like and tweet, as their mere presence on a page leads to uncontrollable tracking cookies designated to perform personal tracking activities that we do not adhere to.
