As Yoctopuce modules can now be controlled by MQTT, we propose this week a concrete example of their use in a system entirely controlled by Home Assistant. The goal of this project is to obtain a control panel gathering all the important parameters to check the state of a private pool, and to implement some simple regulation automations that can then be easily refined to optimize the pool energy consumption.

After the encouraging results of our integration of Yoctopuce sensors in Home Assistant via the MQTT gateway, we could not resist the temptation to integrate our actuator modules as well. But to do so, we had to start by improving our MQTT support by enabling MQTT to send commands to the modules. Here is a presentation of these improvements.

Even if Yoctopuce devices are more often used for professional automation than for private home automation, we already had the opportunity to present you some home automation applications: a ventilation system to fight humidity, a system to optimize watering according to the weather, etc. So we decided to study the possibility of integrating the monitoring of these systems on a standard home automation console: Home Assistant.

Yoctopuce modules are components intended to be integrated into measure and automation systems. The most common method of integration is to add our library to the system control code, but we also offer the possibility to integrate them via HTTP callbacks to third party services. We have recently expanded the possibilities of this type of integration.
