Light sensors comparison

Some time ago, we had to stop making the Yocto-Light because the OSRAM light sensor that we used on this module stopped being produced. As a replacement, we now offer two products: the Yocto-Light-V2, more reactive, based on an AVAGO sensor, and the Yocto-Light-V3, truer to the human eye, based on a ROHM sensor. First tests of the LIDAR-Lite telemeter

When you wanted to measure a distance at a precise location, there wasn't, up to now, any middle range between very expensive laser telemeters (of the Baumer type) and cheap sensors (of the Sharp type). These cheap sensors don't provide a real measured value and are very limited distance-wise. Therefore, we were particularly interested in the LIDAR-Lite project which announced a distance measure of several meters for under $100. Nine months later, the baby is here at last and we can test the final version of the product to try out this new technology.

LabVIEW and Yoctopuce sensors

Week after week, more LabVIEW users discover our sensors and ask us if we will consider creating a full LabVIEW library for our devices. For now the only option was to write your own VI to invoke our command line library, which is neither very convenient nor very efficient. Therefore, we have decided to build a better solution, and we even have something for you to try. At this stage this is only a "proof of concept", but we are waiting for your feedback and your LabVIEW experience to make the final version of this new library as good as you would like it to be!

Counting pulses

People often ask us whether we have a little something enabling people to count pulses or even to measure the frequency of an electric signal. Usually, we cunningly answer that the best would be a Yocto-PWM-Rx, but that this module doesn't exist yet. Well, this is going to change because the Yocto-PWM-Rx is finally now available. We imagine that some are already jumping for joy :-)

Using Xively or Emoncms with a YoctoHub

When you simply want to display a physical measure with a Yoctopuce module, there are several solutions: You can write your own program to display the sensor data, or use the embedded data logger with our command line API to export the data. But there is an even simpler solution: configuring a YoctoHub to post the values in the cloud. We natively support Xively and Emoncms, and this week we explain how to configure a YoctoHub to use these services.
