For several years, we have been offering different YoctoHubs to connect Yoctopuce sensors directly to the network, without using a computer. But as you may have noticed, on this product range, we don't throw ourselves headlong into cutting-edge technologies, especially when standards are split: LoRa, Sigfox, LTE-M, NB-IoT, 5G... With the multiplication of networks aimed at the IoT, we had to wait for the landscape to become clearer, because we couldn't do it all and we had to choose the solution which would best suit our customers. But there it is, we finally made our choice, and it's almost ready.

InfluxDB is a database specifically designed to store time series of measures. You already could add measures from Yoctopuce sensors in an InfluxDB 1.0 database with YoctoHubs or with the VirtualHub. But the recently available new version of InfluxDB uses a new API which isn't compatible. We decided to add support for this new version in the firmware of YoctoHubs and of the VirtualHub. Here is how to insert the measures of Yoctopuce sensors into InfluxDB 2.0 directly from a YoctoHub.

This week, we discuss a small DIY to display the weather forecast. It's an opportunity to show you that you can use the job system of the Yocto-I2C for something else apart from reading sensors.

It seems that when it comes to installing accessories such as electrically powered roller shutters or lights built into a house, the tendency is to avoid pulling cables but to stick on the walls switches which are actually battery-powered radio controls. We are not very convinced of the ecological balance sheet of such a shortcut, but it opens up interesting prospects in terms of DIY.

After the NEEO remote control fiasco, we decided to get over it by playing with Flic buttons, the aim obviously being to use these buttons to drive Yoctopuce modules. This week, we present the results of our experiments on this topic...
