Passive monitoring of an empty house

Let's imagine an isolated house, unoccupied most of the time, with the heater set to the minimum to prevent pipes from freezing. No Internet, no phone... only electricity. How to make sure, without going there, that: a/ the boiler has not broken down , b/ no one settled in inside the said house without your knowledge? We had a few ideas...

Connecting a Yoctopuce sensor to an MQTT broker

To integrate a Yoctopuce sensor into an application, you can use our libraries to communicate directly with the Yoctopuce module. It's the most efficient manner, which also offers the most possibilities. But to do so, you need a minimum of programming knowledge. The other solution is to use a standard protocol and applications which support this protocol. It's the case of MQTT. We just added MQTT support into the VirtualHub and the YoctoHubs.

Using Yoctopuce sensors with InfluxDB and Grafana

Yoctopuce sensors are sold with programming libraries rather than with turnkey software for a specific use. Therefore, most of Yoctopuce users are developers. We do provide a few ready-to-use tools such as the command line interface, somewhat rustic, or the integration into third party solutions such as EmonCMS or Valarm. Today, we present a new solution of this type: an integration with InfluxDB and Grafana.

A WordPress plugin for Yoctopuce sensors

We designed the Yoctopuce sensors so that you can easily integrate them in all kinds of computer systems: connecting them to a computer, to an Android phone, or even to a web server. On this latter point, we have so far discussed web integration examples destined to seasoned programmers, working directly in PHP or in Java. Today, we discuss a solution which is simpler to implement for web developers using the WordPress platform.

Decoding quadrature signals

The Yocto-PWM-Rx is a sensor with two inputs designed to measure electrical pulse trains. Up to now, we measured the signal on each input for itself, independently from the other input. Now, on top of this, you can analyze the two inputs as a pair of quadrature encoded signals.
