The Yocto-VOC-V4-C device enables USB-based assessment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambient air, expressed in CO2-equivalent ppm or TVOC. It simultaneously measures ambient temperature and air humidity. It can also record measurements on its built-in flash memory and later retrieve them via USB.
Thanks to its compact size, this module is ideal for monitoring ambient air quality in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The Sciosens sensor used continuously measures variations in the amount of organic compounds in the air and outputs a total estimated value, expressed in CO2-equivalent ppm and in ppb of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). The sensor provides an initial estimate after a few tens of seconds of operation, then gradually refines its readings. VOC estimation is humidity-compensated using the humidity sensor integrated in the module.
The value returned in CO2-equivalent ppm is an estimate with automatic baseline recalibration. Therefore, the absolute value should be used with caution, as it does not fully account for very slow drift in VOC levels. It is not directly comparable with the absolute measurement provided by the Yocto-CO2-V2, but it has the advantage of accounting for volatile organic compounds more broadly than a simple CO2 measurement.
The sensor itself can be detached from the USB module and placed several meters away using a flat ribbon cable connected to the dedicated contacts (for example, to position it near ventilation ducts).
USB cables and enclosures to be ordered separately.
