VirtualHub improvements for Linux

Linux is an OS which is widely used in the IoT. Unfortunately for the users discovering this OS, it can be quite confusing. For example, by default, Linux blocks write access to the USB devices for "non-root" users. It isn't really easy to configure an application so that it starts at boot time. This week, we are going to see two small improvements which are going to make the life of Linux users easier.

New! The Yocto-Inclinometer

Some time ago, we played with Murata SCL3300 tilt sensor. During these tests, we were impressed enough by its accuracy to think that it was worth it to make it into a dedicated Yoctopuce module. Hence the Yocto-Inclinometer that we present today.

VirtualHub 2.0 with TLS, beta version

We are constantly improving our products, our programming libraries, as well as our tools. This week, we are writing about a new feature that we just added to the VirtualHub: the HTTPS support. We even offer you to test this new feature by using the beta version of the VirtualHub 2.0.

Evolution of the YoctoHub-GSM

For several years, we have been offering different YoctoHubs to connect Yoctopuce sensors directly to the network, without using a computer. But as you may have noticed, on this product range, we don't throw ourselves headlong into cutting-edge technologies, especially when standards are split: LoRa, Sigfox, LTE-M, NB-IoT, 5G... With the multiplication of networks aimed at the IoT, we had to wait for the landscape to become clearer, because we couldn't do it all and we had to choose the solution which would best suit our customers. But there it is, we finally made our choice, and it's almost ready.

Using a Yocto-Watt as energy meter

The Yocto-Watt is a small module which is very convenient to measure by USB the voltage, the current, and the instantaneous real power of an electric circuit. As it is also able to integrate the power to compute the total energy for a given lapse of time, some users also employ it to measure the energy that a system consumes, and we have recently improved this feature.
