That 11cm cable provides a 1.27mm connectors on each end. This will allow you to connect Yoctopuce devices to a YoctoHub in a very compact manner. Four 1.27 matching connectors are provided as well: 2 straight and 2 angled.
It would be great if the connectors and ribbon cable (1000mm) was sold unconnected as an option to allow custom lengths to be made by the user.
Even with the dedicated $350 crimping tool, these cables are a pain to make at home. Fortunately these connectors are pretty standard and you can easily buy cables pre-made at many length. Search for instance for "PicoBlade OTS Discrete Wire Cable Assembly". Beware: Molex wiring chart in reverted compared to Yoctopuce version, you'll have to reverse one of the connector, the crimped leads are easy to remove from the connectors.
The PicoBlade OTS fits perfectly, however when I connected the YoctoHUB to Meteo Board it started to smoke! I guess I need to swap cables somewhere as you mentioned, which one though?
Have a close look on the blueprint above, connectors are attached to the wires in a non symmetric way.
I cannot find a distributor for the Picoblade OTS cables. Is it possible to purchase these connectors and extend them ourselves?
Sorry a further question. What gauge of wires would be needed to extend the connectors?
@alastair: You can find pre-crimped wires on DigiKey, for instance part 900-2149201214-ND. Then you just have to insert them into the connector housing (part WM1722-ND). These cables typically use AWG26 wires. Don't make them too long, otherwise you may experience issues with voltage drop!
