Those of you who pay close attention may have noticed that, since a few weeks ago, the Yocto-MaxiRelay is not available anymore. Actually, we have decided to discontinue this product: too expensive, too heavy, too hard to build, for a result somewhat disappointing in terms of DC load breaking capacity. As there truly was some demand for a multichannel relay module, we have a little something to offer instead.
The Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay
The Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay is a 59x58mm double-width module, but it is much less high than the Yocto-MaxiRelay: about 12mm against 21mm.
The Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay
After seeing the picture above, you are probably wondering why the relays are not aligned on the module. The answer is simple: this disposition allows us to maximize the distance between the contacts of each relay.
Feature-wise, the Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay is more or less a Yocto-MaxiRelay with five channels instead of eight. But rather than use the high density relays of the Yocto-MaxiRelay, we selected the same relays as for the Yocto-PowerRelay, one of our leading products.
For each channel, the Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay is able to commute 250VAC at 5 amps, so 1250 watts. In direct current, as for all electro-mechanical relays, load breaking capacity depends on current intensity. The DC load breaking capacity of the Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay is much better than that of the Yocto-MaxiRelay.
DC load breaking capacity: Yocto-MaxiRelay vs. Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay.
As the Yocto-MaxiPowerRelay is more compact than its predecessor, it fits very well within a YoctoBox-MaxiIO-Transp or a YoctoBox-MaxiIO-Black.

Obviously, this new module shares the same advanced features as the other Yoctopuce relay modules. Here we are, I believe we talked about everything you need to know.. now you can order it :-)
