Customers more and more often ask us which enclosure they should use with the Yocto-Color. The official answer is: "There is none". This is due an alignment error in the fixing holes. But unofficially, there is a way to make a Yocto-Color fit into an enclosure, as long as you are not afraid to tinker with your precious Yoctopuce products.
Can we put a Yocto-Color into an enclosure?
The Yocto-Color was designed much earlier than the enclosures. At that time, the precise location of the module fifth fixing hole didn't seem very important as this module was destined to be split into several parts. And when we designed the enclosures, we thought that no one would want to put an entire Yocto-Color into an enclosure. Wrong guess.
In fact, inserting a Yocto-Color into an enclosure raises two distinct problems:
a) The fifth hole is shifted by 2 mm compared to the enclosure.
b) The resistance located close to the fifth hole collides with the lid of the enclosure, and this prevents the lid from closing.

Given a few modifications, it is nevertheless possible to make a Yocto-Color fit into a YoctoBox-Long-Thin-Transp or a YoctoBox-Long-Thin-Black.
The collision issue is easy to solve by sandpapering a small area in the enclosure lid. It is now possible to close the lid.

If you wish to put the fifth screw, it's possible, you only need to drill a hole through the Yocto-Color printed circuit, using a small drill and a 2.5mm bit. It might look terrifying said like this, but if you do it carefully, using the enclosure as a guide, the risk is low.
