Monitoring the state of an oil-fired furnace

By seb, in Internet of Things, february 05,2021.

Many houses were built before the Internet of Things and sometimes we need to convert old, but working, installations in order to monitor them remotely. It's the topic of this week's post. We are going to add a YoctoHub to a Straton furnace in order to receive an alert when the furnace goes out of order.

A light sensor for a connected cat flap

By mvuilleu, in Internet of Things, DIY and Programming, january 11,2021.

A few months ago, a small feline has taken up residence next to Yoctopuce and sometimes comes to visit. So that it can come in and out freely during the day, we installed a microchip cat flap which we can control remotely. When we installed it, we thought that there was bound to be some interesting tinkering that we could do with the cat flap and some Yoctopuce modules, and there we are...

IFTTT and Yoctopuce

By seb, in Internet of Things, september 25,2020.

YoctoHubs cannot connect directly to the IFTTT cloud service, but you can still use our modules with this platform thanks to the Webhooks. We are going to see how to publish the values measured by a Yocto-Meteo-V2 on different services thanks to IFTTT and Webhooks.

Evolution of the YoctoHub-GSM

By mvuilleu, in Internet of Things and New stuff, august 28,2020.

For several years, we have been offering different YoctoHubs to connect Yoctopuce sensors directly to the network, without using a computer. But as you may have noticed, on this product range, we don't throw ourselves headlong into cutting-edge technologies, especially when standards are split: LoRa, Sigfox, LTE-M, NB-IoT, 5G... With the multiplication of networks aimed at the IoT, we had to wait for the landscape to become clearer, because we couldn't do it all and we had to choose the solution which would best suit our customers. But there it is, we finally made our choice, and it's almost ready.

Using Yoctopuce sensors with InfluxDB 2.0 OSS

By seb, in Internet of Things, march 13,2020.

InfluxDB is a database specifically designed to store time series of measures. You already could add measures from Yoctopuce sensors in an InfluxDB 1.0 database with YoctoHubs or with the VirtualHub. But the recently available new version of InfluxDB uses a new API which isn't compatible. We decided to add support for this new version in the firmware of YoctoHubs and of the VirtualHub. Here is how to insert the measures of Yoctopuce sensors into InfluxDB 2.0 directly from a YoctoHub.
