The Yocto-SPI documentation contains an example to interface the AlphaSense OPC-N2 particle counter. Since then, Alphasense has released a new model, the OPC-N3, and the commands to query it are slightly different. This week, by popular request, we explain how to make the OPC-N3 work with a Yocto-SPI and we take this opportunity to introduce a small innovation.

There are probably not many measuring devices based on a physical phenomenon as unstable as barometric altimeters. And yet, they are still widely used, for want of anything better. It seems that when it comes to installing accessories such as electrically powered roller shutters or lights built into a house, the tendency is to avoid pulling cables but to stick on the walls switches which are actually battery-powered radio controls. We are not very convinced of the ecological balance sheet of such a shortcut, but it opens up interesting prospects in terms of DIY.
